Northbound drivers, heading towards Ashburton/ Christchurch, would be detoured at Hinds along Hinds Lismore Road, then Winslow Road and back onto State Highway 1.
Southbound drivers may be delayed a short time until a lane is opened up on State Highway 1 around the crash site.
Drivers should anticipate delays getting through this area and everyone’s patience is appreciated, said NZ Transport Agency Journey Manager Lee Wright.
