From Friday afternoon to early Sunday morning, there is a watch out for heavy rain and the possibility of snow accumulations, particularly on the high country, the Napier-Taupo Road (SH5) and Napier-Taihape Road.
“Our contractors will be monitoring road and weather conditions so they can quickly respond to any weather-related road effects. If you travelling to the Taupo Marathon or to the mountain skiing, as conditions can change rapidly, we advise people to check the latest weather and road updates before they get on the road,” Wayne Oldfield, Highway Manger, NZ Transport Agency says.
