Check your car

If you own a car, it’s your responsibility to maintain your vehicle and ensure it’s in a roadworthy condition at all times. Take the time to check your car regularly and you could reduce the risk of serious damage to you, your passengers and your car in a crash.

The target audience

The ‘Check your car’ campaign takes a proactive approach to vehicle safety. It targets all vehicle owners aged 16 and over and encourages them to check their vehicles on a regular basis. While there are simple things people can check themselves, it’s important to seek expert advice if they’re concerned about anything. The campaign aims to help people ensure their car is as safe as it can be.

Our approach

We want to change the way in which people think a current WoF sticker represents a safe vehicle, to one where vehicle owners take more ownership and ensure their vehicles are in a safe condition at all times.

Our underlying message is that if you own a car, it’s your responsibility to maintain your vehicle and ensure it’s in a roadworthy condition at all times. Take the time to check your car regularly and you could reduce the risk of serious damage to you, your passengers and your car in a crash. The campaign focuses on simple steps people can take to ensure that their car is as safe as it can be.
