Only contractors who are registered as ‘prequalified’ by us may be eligible to tender for state highway contracts with us without having to go through the preliminary formalities every time.
The prequalification system is an acknowledgement of your qualifications and experience – and it simplifies the tendering process, saving time and effort in the tender process.
Prequalification is available for four categories (each with four levels):

How to apply for prequalification
The Transport Agency has made some changes to how we manage our prequalified contractors. We have established a business relationshipPrequalifying with ISNetworld ( www.isnetworld.com ) to help our company objectively manage contractor prequalification requirements. As a result, all our prequalified physical works contractors will be required to become subscribers to ISNetworld in order to be eligibleus allows you to tender for NZ Transport Agency contracts.contracts that include a prequalification requirement.
This new system allows us to streamline the way we collect, verify and manage supplier prequalification information. With the introduction of the new system, our objective is to allow you to join a pool of competent suppliers who share our values in keeping people safe and well. It will also help us to communicate with you more effectively, and efficiently manage documentation.
Get the prequalification pack
If your company is new to ISNetworld, there will be a nominal fee for your subscription, based on the size of your organisation. Your company’s ISNetworld subscription will provide the Transport Agency access to the following required information:Download the prequalification application pack
- Company Information– Populate your company information in ISNetworld including company contact information, main and branch office locations, and types of work/industry classifications. This will provide us with your company’s most current contact information.
- Document Submission– ISNetworld will track documents such as Reference Letters, Organisational Charts, Resources and CVs. During your subscription set-up, ISNetworld will explain how to submit these documents and make them available online to the Transport Agency for review.
- HSE Questionnaire– The Transport Agency will use the questionnaire in ISNetworld to collect aspects of your company’s health and safety information.
- HSE and Traffic Management Programmes– Submit copies of your HSE and Traffic Management programmes/information to ISNetworld so that the ISN Review and Verification Services (RAVS) team can review and assess it for consistency with Transport Agency standards and regulatory requirements.
