The Transport Agency places strong emphasis on customer care and working with the community.  The Well-Connected Alliance make considerable efforts to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses and to ensure people living or working close to our works are kept well informed. The following are the ways we do it.

Community liaison team and Freephone hotline

The project has a dedicated stakeholder and communications team, including two dedicated stakeholder liaison managers who are focused on addressing the concerns of the local community and providing up-to-date project information.

Jocelyn Shaw and Claire Cooney are the people to call if you have any questions, concerns or just feedback about the Waterview Connection project. They can be reached on Freephone 0508 TUNNEL (886635).

Community Liaison Group (CLG)

Representatives of local educational, iwi, heritage, environmental, housing and business communities meet every three months with members of the projects construction team, urban designers and Auckland Council.

The Community Liaison Group has two key roles;

  • To ensure that community interests are not only protected through the construction process, but are appropriately recognised through the urban design and landscaping packages that are so integral to the overall project scope.
  • To assist in facilitating a two-way flow of information between the project and all sectors of the surrounding communities, so that construction impacts and community safety can be better managed.
